The SAARC Agriculture Centre (SAC), Dhaka, Bangladesh commemorated the 32nd SAARC Charter Day along with the International Year of Pulses – 2016 on 08 December 2016 at 02:00 pm at the Auditorium of Bangladesh Agricultural Research Council (BARC), Farmgate, Dhaka.
Matia Chowdhury MP, Hon’ble Minister, Ministry of Agriculture, Government of the People’s Republic of Bangladesh kindly consented to grace the occasion as Chief Guest. Dr. Abul Kalam Azad, Executive Cairman, Bangladesh Agricultural Research Council (BARC) and Mr. Md. Hamidur Rahman, Director General, Department of Agricultural Extension (DAE) presented as Special Guests. Mr. Tareq Ahmed, Director General (SAARC & BIMSTEC), Ministry of foreign Affairs, Government of Bangladesh and Dr. Mike Robson, FAO representative in Bangladesh presented as Guests of Honour.
Dr. Mohan C. Saxena, delivered the keynote paper on “Pulses Strategy for Sustainable Food and Nutrition Security in SAARC Region”.
The function chaired by Mr. Mohammad Nazmul Islam, Additional Secretary (PPC), Ministry of Agriculture, Government of Bangladesh.
