SAARC Agriculture Centre (SAC) held a constructive meeting with Mr Khabirul Haque Kamal, Country Director/PIL, VSO Bangladesh, and officials from VSO on 6 September 2026 at the VSO Bangladesh office in Mohammadpur, Dhaka.

The meeting focused on exploring potential areas of partnership and collaboration between SAC and VSO Bangladesh, with particular emphasis on sustainable agriculture, food security, livestock and fisheries development, youth engagement, community-based initiatives and resilient agrifood systems across the SAARC Member States.

Senior Program Specialist (Livestock) Dr. Md. Younus Ali and Senior Program Specialist (Fisheries) Dr. Md. Shariful Islam, along with other officials from VSO Bangladesh, participated in the meeting.

The discussions provided a valuable platform to exchange views, identify shared priorities and explore opportunities for joint initiatives that can contribute to inclusive, sustainable and resilient agricultural development in South Asia.

SAC looks forward to strengthening collaboration with VSO Bangladesh and building meaningful partnerships for the benefit of farming communities, young people and other stakeholders across the region.
