Dr. Md. Golam Mahboob, newly appointed Director of the SAARC Agriculture Centre (SAC), paid a courtesy call on Mr. Md. Selim Khan, Secretary, Ministry of Agriculture, Government of Bangladesh.

The meeting focused on strengthening cooperation and promoting sustainable and climate-resilient agriculture across the SAARC Member States. Discussions highlighted the importance of regional knowledge sharing, innovation and collaborative initiatives for resilient agri-food systems and food security in South Asia.

Dr. Md. Shariful Islam, Senior Program Specialist (Fisheries), SAC, was also present at the meeting.

On the occasion, Dr. Md. Golam Mahboob handed over recent SAC publications and a commemorative memento to the Agriculture Secretary.

SAC looks forward to closer collaboration with the Ministry of Agriculture in advancing sustainable agricultural development and regional cooperation across South Asia.
