Visit of H.E Secretary of General of SAARC

On 3 December, 2024, the SAARC Agriculture Centre (SAC) Office had the distinct honor of welcoming H.E. Ambassador Mr. Md. Golam Sarwar, Secretary General of SAARC for an official visit. A meeting was conducted in the same day at SAC Conference Room.

A comprehensive presentation focuses on regional integrations, particularly in sectors like food security, climate resilience, and regional policy was given by the Director, SAC where H.E. Ambassador Mr. Md. Golam Sarwar, Secretary General of SAARC was the Chief Guest. Mr. Hari Prasad Odari Director (Poverty Alleviation and Information), SAARC Secretariat and Mr. Md. Arafat Rahman, Director (SAARC and BIMSTEC) were present as guests.

The discussions underscored the importance of member states’ collaboration and SAC’s pivotal role in facilitating cross-border knowledge-sharing and policy alignment. This visit marked a significant milestone in strengthening regional collaboration and advancing SAC’s mission to foster sustainable development, cooperation, and mutual prosperity among SAARC member states
