SAARC Agriculture Centre (SAC) organized a Regional review meeting on SAARC Vegetables Adaptive Trials held at SAC Conference Room, BARC Complex, Dhaka Bangladesh during 14-15 December 2015. The regional adaptive trials are conducting on selected five vegetables (Tomato, Brinjal, Cucumber, Pumkin and Okra) since 2012 in the National Focal Institutes of the SAARC member countries for improvement of vegetables.
The objectives of the meeting to know the status of the adaptive trials during last three years and collected data is also analyzed to identify the adaptability situation of the collected varieties/lines in SAARC member countries, If any promising cultivars to be selected from the meeting, then submit to the relevant national regulatory bodies of variety release by National Focal Institution of individual SAARC member countries.
Around 25 experts (Professionals from National Agricultural Research System) having experiences and adequate exposure of the relevant field from Bangladesh, Bhutan, India, Nepal, Pakistan and Sri Lanka will be participated in the regional meeting.
