SAARC Agriculture Centre (SAC), Bangladesh, organized a three-day training on “Advancing Workplace Excellence: Office Management, Communication, AI and Photography” for its GS staff from 2-4 September 2025 at the SAC Conference Room. The program began with welcome remarks by Dr. Md. Harunur Rashid, Director, SAC, who emphasized SAC’s commitment to staff capacity building and professional development. The opening and orientation session, along with icebreaker activities, was facilitated by Dr. AHM Taslima Akhter, STO, SAC, setting a positive and engaging tone for the training.

On the first day, participants focused on office management, communication, and mental wellbeing. Mr. Md. Kabir Hossain, Curriculum Development and Education, Training Wing, Department of Agriculture Extension (DAE) led a session on understanding office manners, punctuality, effective time and task management and professional communication. This was followed by a session on office management best practices conducted by Mr. Mohammad Mahbubur Rahman, Manager-Training, Palli Karma Sahayak Foundation (PKSF), which highlighted proper document storage, file and record management, office supply organization, accuracy and confidentiality. The day also included sessions on mental health and workplace stress management by Dr. Md. Jurdi Adam, Consultant Psychiatrist Life Spring, where participants learned practical strategies for maintaining wellbeing, nutrition and physical activity in a professional environment. Interactive exercises and refresher games concluded the first day’s program.

The second day focused on ICT skills and the use of Artificial Intelligence for office efficiency. Mr. Abu Hossain Md Motasim, Business Executive & Digital Marketing Expert, bdtask Ltd guided participants in database management, spreadsheet use, designing clear presentations and using infographics and visuals. Participants also worked in groups to prepare short presentations applying the skills learned. The sessions on AI, led by Mr. Md. Imdadul Islam, Senior Manager – Business Development, NetCom and Mr. Fahmidul Alam, Learning Consultant, NetCoM were introduced the basics of Artificial Intelligence, practical AI tools for documentation and visual communication, designing presentations and graphics with AI, as well as AI ethics and safe usage. These sessions provided participants with hands-on experience in applying AI to professional tasks.

The final day emphasized photography skills for office work. Mr. Ali Ahamed Namen, Video editor (Incharge) channel one & Founder, clickntech.com conducted sessions on the importance of good photography, camera and mobile settings, lighting, framing, composition and capturing various types of shots including portraits, group photos, event coverage and office photography. Participants engaged in group practice sessions to apply the techniques learned. The training concluded with a review and feedback session led by Dr. Md. Harunur Rashid, highlighting lessons learned, successes, and expectations for future professional development.

The three-day training equipped SAC staff with practical skills in office management, communication, ICT, AI and photography, enhancing their professional competency and contributing to a more efficient and effective workplace environment.
