January, 2011 to present: Principal Scientific officer (Soil), Natural Resources Management Division, Bangladesh Agricultural Research Council (BARC), New Airport Road, Farm Gate, Dhaka, Bangladesh.

As principal scientific officer, the incumbent is responsible to review, identify and suggest researchable problems in relation to land and soil resource management which covers soil organic matter, soil nutrient status, soil degradation, nutrient use efficiency, soil management in unfavourable ecosystems (coastal lands, hills, char lands), etc of National Agricultural Research Systems of Bangladesh. He is responsible for planning, formulation and implementation of coordinated project of national needs and also involved as a supervisor of Master of Science ( MS) student.

September, 2004 to December 2010: Senior Scientific Officer and Head, Soils and Nutrition Division, Bangladesh Sugarcane Research Institute, Ishurdi-6620, Pabna, Bangladesh.

Performed as program leader of Soils and Nutrition Division. Prepared research programme of the division; implemented the programs in the field of own and whole division; data acquisition and processing of data for reporting of the division; upgraded the laboratory facilities in terms of infra structure and procurement; supervised the research programs of junior colleagues; trained the junior colleagues, extension workers and farmers; organized seminar, symposium and workshop. Number of staff supervised included 10 out of which 3 scientists and others were scientific staffs.

December 1989 to December 1992 : Scientific Officer, Sugarcane Based Farming Systems Research Project- under Soils and Agronomy Division, Bangladesh Sugarcane Research Institute, Ishurdi-6620, Pabna, Bangladesh

Worked with the farmers directly to disseminate the sugarcane based mature technologies with view to improve the socio economic condition of the farmers. And also conduct research in farmers filed considering their present demand and problems. He is also responsible to arrange training for Agricultural officer of Department of Agricultural Extension and also for the farmers for creating the benefit of farming systems research.
