SAARC Agriculture Centre (SAC) Participated in the 21st Book Fair 2025 (Omor Ekusha Boi Mela) at Bangla Academy Premises, Dhaka, Bangladesh on 01 February -28 February 2025. Around 210 books on different categories focusing on agriculture and allied discipline which were published by the SAARC Agriculture Centre, were displayed at the fair. The main objective for participation in the fair was to create awareness among visitors about the SAC activities in South Asia. Around two thousand people visited the SAC stall, and they made aware about the SAC activities. Additionally, around 10 books were sold, amounting BDT 4700. Ambassador Abdul Motalib Sarker, Director General (SAARC and BISMSTEC), MoFA visited the SAC stall, and he expressed his satisfaction with the SAC stall.

During the Omor Ekusha Boi Mela, 12 February, 2025, the Ambassador Motalib Sarker, DG, SAARC & BIMSTEC as the Chief Guest unveiled the cover of a book title “Transformation for Sustainable and Nutrition Sensitive Agri-Food System in South Asia” which was published by the SAARC Agriculture Centre. Expressing his satisfaction with releasing a SAC published book in front of the journalists and visitors at the national book fair, Mr. Sarker said that it would help to increase visibility of regional cooperation among the visitors. Dr. Md. Harunur Rashid, Director, SAC and other SAC officials were also presence on the stage of book release.

Mr. Jamal Uddin Ahmed, Director (ARD & SDF), SAARC Secretariat, Nepal also visited the SAC stall and he expressed his satisfaction about the SAC book stall. Later he made an interview to the Chanel I regarding the role of SAC for food and nutrition security in South Asia. The Chanel I broadcasted the news also.

The present book related on Transformation of Agri Food System was written by the expert members of SAARC countries and the professional expert of SAC took efforts to publish it as a book as a guide to regional policy makers.
