The Endline Survey Report Sharing Meeting under the Livelihood Enhancement Project organized by the SAARC Agriculture Centre (SAC) on 23 December 2024 in virtual mode. The objective of the meeting was to share the project impact findings among the focal points of IA for further improvement of the report. The report was prepared by Dr. Nowsher Ali Sarder, Consultant, Livelihood Enhancement Project.
Around 14 participants including country focal points from Bangladesh, India, Bhutan, Sri Lanka, and Maldives participated in the meeting. Dr. Md. Younus Ali, Project Coordinator, Livelihood Project, SAC welcomed all the participants who joined in virtually. Dr. Md. Harunur Rashid, Director SAC, delivered the opening remarks in the meeting. He expressed gratitude to the country’s focal points for their extensive cooperation and diligent efforts in implementing the project activities. He further emphasized the importance of drafting an outline to ensure the completion of the remaining project activities in a timely manner.
The technical session was chaired by Mr. KJM Abdul Awal, Additional Director, (Horticulture), Department of Agricultural Extension, Dhaka, Bangladesh. Mr. Dhruba Regmi, Assistant Director (M&E), SAARC Development Fund (SDF), joined as a discussant on the report. Mr. Regmi apprised the country’s focal points and consultants to align project outcomes with the initial objectives to showcase impact and attract further funding from potential donors.
Dr. Md. Younus Ali, the Project Coordinator, informed all country’s focal points to formulate a detailed activity plan with timelines to ensure the successful execution of the pending activities.
In the closing remarks, Director SAC urged participants to make a project exit plan for sustainability of the project. He also recommended the meeting for revisiting the survey report to ensure it comprehensively reflects the intended objectives and sustainability.
