A 4-member delegation from the SAARC Agriculture Centre led by Dr. Md. Baktear Hossain, Director, SAC called on Dr. Himanshu Pathak, Director General, ICAR & other ICAR officials on 21 September 2022 to discuss the ongoing collaborative activities between India and SAARC. Dr. Hossain introduced the team and the on-going activities in the Centre. Dr. Pathak emphasized on the strong partnership between India and SAARC Member States and reiterated its commitment to continue to work together in the future.  A road-map of probable avenues of joint activities was discussed by the Senior programme Specialist Dr. Grinson George. The various initiatives of the Consortium for Scaling-up Climate Smart Agriculture in South Asia (C-SUCSeS) was explained by the Regional Programme Coordinator Mr. Kinzang Gyeltshen. Dr. Younus Ali, Senior Technical Officer explained on the project – livelihood enhancement of the small farmers in the SAARC Region through small-scale agribusiness focusing on value chain development – which provides farmers in the SAARC Member States opportunities to improve their livelihoods and increase income through small scale agro-business focusing on value chain development.
